About Us at Magical-Cape-Town-Vacations
Magical-Cape-Town-Vacations was born out of our family's passion for Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa.
Let me introduce you to us. We are the Palmer family, Helen, Michael, William and Lawrence from the United Kingdom with the addition of my parents, Don and Marilyn.
Mum and Dad own a property on Woodbridge Island, Milnerton, and like the swallows, return to Cape Town every year around October time, staying to enjoy the spring and summer, coming back to the UK before the Cape storms prevail.
I fell in love with Cape Town on my first visit, back in 1981, taking the opportunity to visit my aunt and cousins, who had emigrated some years before. I celebrated a special occasion sitting on top of Table Mountain on one of the most beautiful, calm, sunny days that only seem to happen when you see a glimpse of heaven!
Even then I knew that I wanted to return as soon as possible, but it was years later when I finally persuaded my husband, Michael along with our eldest son, William, to take the plunge and vacation with my parents on Woodbridge Island.

When we visit we stay on the island, which is around on the bay, about 5 minutes out of town, with long, soft, white sandy beaches stretching for miles. The Island itself is a small spit of land with a lagoon on one side and the beach and sea on the other. Neither the lagoon nor beach is more than 2 minutes away from anywhere on the Island. Almost every view is dominated by Table Mountain.
It's an idyllic spot, close to the vibrancy of the city, with its shops, Waterfront restaurants and activity, yet peaceful and serene even on the hottest days. Watching "Eddie Egret" carefully picking his way over the sandy-bottomed Lagoon, with his wonderfully neon-bright yellow feet, hunting for his meal, whilst we watch from our back verandah, eating our own breakfast, is so timeless!
What we hope you will find amongst our pages is a picture of a city and its surrounds that you too will want to visit and like most people, leave their hearts in Cape Town - we certainly have left ours! We want to share our knowledge and passion with you, so that you too can experience the best vacation you can. Of course we can also bring you the best of both worlds - Cape Town through the eyes of those on holiday and those that live there!
